SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― A man was busted while allegedly trying to smuggle thousands of ecstasy pills through a Sacramento International Airport security checkpoint, despite trying out some unusual excuses on security personnel.

Steven Noel Davison, 34, allegedly attempted to smuggle the drugs onto an Express Jet flight Wednesday. He approached airport security, catching the attention of Transportation Security Administration screeners who noticed "suspicious behavior."

Davison was singled out for additional screening. The agent who physically searched him felt a bag strapped to his inner thigh, but Davison allegedly claimed it was a colostomy bag.

"Once he was taken to the secondary screening room, he began to give the TSA problems," said Sacramento Sheriff's Department spokesman Tim Curran. Davison reportedly began sweating and kept asking if he could go to the restroom.

Security screeners found six bags of ecstasy strapped to his leg, according to authorities, but Davison claimed they were vitamins. TSA agents called the Sacramento Sheriff's Department, who arrested him.

Authorities also found $6,000 in cash in his pocket, and estimate the street value of the drugs at $100,000.

It isn't the first time Davison has run into trouble with the law -- he's been arrested for murder in Missouri, for sexual assault in Las Vegas, and for drug and weapons charges in Northern California.
