Strikeforce and Showtime announced today during an open workout for Fedor Emelianenko that his next opponent will indeed be Brett Rogers (10-0).
While no date has been set, most are speculating that the fight will likely take place in November.
Payout Perspective:
Just a short note here, the addition of Fedor vs. Rogers to a possible November card could make for a very packed month of MMA action. Not only is Strikeforce currently planning a card, but the UFC will have two – 105 & 106.
It’ll be interesting to see whether UFC 106 and Lesnar’s title defense can steal most, if not all, of the media coverage for the Fedor-Rogers tilt.

Man, im kinda pissed that he didnt go into the UFC, now the Critics have more shit to talk about on Fedor. for Example, we know Fedor has fought the Best, but right now those people are considered the OLD BEST. Those fighters left Pride and came to UFC had a run, but are now kind of down and out with the exception of Antonio Nog. He has a chance for a comeback against Coutoure, but the rest of the people Fedor has fought are losing all their recent fights.

Mirko looked like garbage in his last fight, but he won, it was against Mustafa al Turk, which to me is the punching bag in the UFC at the moment. Arlovski got beat by Rogers, Tim Sylvia is no where to be found either.

So critics can say that Fedor is also dodging the best by signing up with Strikeforce, I dont know why people think Brock is the near the best, but Fedor vs Mir, Brock, & even Light Heavyweights like Rampage, Machida, Evans would all be amazing fights. The only person in Strikeforce is Brett Rogers, & the other people are not in his weight class Nick Diaz, Cung Le...man this blows.
