Even former 49er coach Bill Walsh was quoted saying to take the player that best suits your system and DHB suits the Raiders system better than Crabtree. Michael Crabtree came from a not so complicated offensive system and had various other weapons around him that's why he caught so many balls. DHB came from NFL type of system which was a run first type of system and he didn't have good QB like Crabtree did. Obviously you don't know what the Raiders got for Burgess. They got a 3rd and a 4th the 3rd could become a 2nd depending on what kind of year Burgess has. I f you ask me that is a pretty good deal for a guy that has been hurt and only had 3.5 sacks last year.
I'm calling DHB and Mitchell a reach based on where everyone else (Scouts, Teams, Writers, Etc) had them on their draft boards. No one was gonna pick Mitchell til maybe the 6th round (The Bears). He was a REACH. All the scouts had Crabtree over DHB. Al Davis WAS a great owner. Now he is a joke. He drafts whoever can run the fastest 40. I don't know what you mean by quoting Bill Walsh. Crabtree is the better WR in either system. He creates more separation, is a better route runner, and can catch the ball consistently. Timed .40's don't mean everything. At the time of that post I was not aware of what the raiders got in return. I thought they would just screw up like usual but the deal is not bad for Oakland.

Quote:
Michael Crabtree
Draft Grade: 96

Separation Skills - Exceptional
Quick feet and uses hands well, making it tough to slow him down at the line of scrimmage. Appears to have excellent football I.Q., reads defenses well and excels at locating seams in zone coverage. Throws head fakes at corners (see third quarter touchdown catch in 2008 Oklahoma State game) and outstanding at getting inside leverage when going over the middle. Above-average initial quickness and explodes out of cuts. Changes speeds extremely well and sets defenders up with hesitation moves. Works back to quarterback when pass protection starts to break down.

Ball Skills - Exceptional
Snatches the ball out of the air and can make waist-high catches without breaking stride. Times jumps well, can elevate over defenders and shows outstanding body control in the air. Uses frame to shield defenders from the ball and can make tough catches in traffic. Rarely drops a pass he should catch but when he does it seems to be a momentary lapse in focus. For example, he appeared to take eyes off ball on a first-quarter drop in the 2008 Oklahoma State game.

Vertical Speed - Average
Lacks elite top-end speed and isn't going to run by many NFL corners but fast enough and capable of competing for any jump balls downfield.

Run After Catch - Above Average
Far more elusive than size suggests and can make defenders miss when gets into space. Bounces off arm tackles, flashes above-average lower body strength and fights for yards after contact. Lacks breakaway speed. Doesn't always keep ball tight to frame and puts it on the ground too much.

Competitiveness and Toughness - Exceptional
Showed remarkable balance, sideline awareness and poise on game-winning touchdown catch in 2008 Texas game. Fearless going over the middle and has a nose for the end zone. Frequently ran corners off in Texas Tech's scheme and struggles to sustain blocks but flashes a strong initial punch and willing to throw body around downfield.

DHB
Draft Grade: 90

Separation Skills - Average
Highly explosive and can make corners pay when they don't give him a healthy cushion. Unpolished route runner that has a tendency to round off cuts and drift on occasion. Still has the burst to regularly separate from man coverage. Runs away from corners when running crossing routes.

Ball Skills - Average
Focus is inconsistent. Drops too many 'catchable' balls. Very good natural ball skills, though. Has a lot of potential in this area but needs more reps. Strong hands, does a nice job of snatching the ball out of the air, and can make catches without breaking stride. Displays good body control and can catch balls thrown below waist as well as above his shoulders. Does a nice job of tracking the ball downfield.

Vertical Speed - Exceptional
Absolute burner and homerun threat. Goes from 0-60 mph instantly and has the second gear to run by corners at the NFL level.

Run After Catch - Above Average
Breakaway speed and can go the distance any time gets a seam but lacks ideal elusiveness and isn't going to make many defenders miss.

Competitiveness and Toughness - Above Average
Does a great job of fighting for the jump ball. Willing to go over the middle and make the tough catch in traffic. Doesn't deliver a violent punch and isn't a good blocker at this point.

And regarding Michael Mitchell, found this on RaiderFans.Net.

Quote:
It was reported during the second day of the draft on both NFLN's and ESPN's coverage that Michael Mitchell was graded above a 7th Round prospect by two teams, the Oakland Raiders and the Chicago Bears. The other 30 teams graded Mitchell as a 7th Round or UDFA type. The Bears apparently had a good deal of interest, but thought they could get him in the 4th or so, so I'm not certain that he would have been the pick at 49.

I don't think some people here get it. If, say, Larry English had been a reach at 16, Michael Mitchell is a hyper-extended shoulder and elbow at 47. In five years of attending the draft, I have never before witnessed quite a reach. It sounds dramatic and to the Raiders and even Bears fans it may seem harsh, but it is the truth. The kicker here, I go to Ohio University and have watched the guy play many times and actually liked him a as a late round option with upside. I was on hand to watch him play VMI, Central Michigan, and Buffalo this year and watched the Temple and Ohio State games on TV and also was the only student on hand to watch his pro day, which for those of you who aren't aware is the only reason he was even considered to be drafted in 2009, so this is a player I'm very familiar with.

I won't say he is a bad player, and I won't say he doesn't have the chance to be a good player. He was an average player, on an average defense, for an average team, in an average conference. He was not the best player on Ohio University's defense, in fact, he was likely our third best DB behind Mark Parson and Steven Jackson.

He can run, he can hit, but do any of you know anything else about Mitchell? I'm not talking about watching a five minute youtube video on him and claiming he has all the tools. I'm talking about going back on film and breaking down the way this guy plays.

Pros: Exceptional measurables for the Safety position. Is an NFL athlete on paper. Flows to the ball fast and aggressively and knows how to finish the play when he gets there. Punishing hitter. Solid tackler. Finds the ball and moves downhill to make plays. Can lock on and can force fumbles and make plays. Solid hands. Plenty of upside.

Cons: Football instincts are well subpar. His read and react skills are marred by poor angles, resulting in over-pursuit. Will too often lower his head and go for the kill shot and lose vision of the ball carrier. Is raw in coverage and shows little recognition skills. Is an overall liability in coverage and looks lost more often than not. Will give up the deep ball without knowing a receiver ever got behind him. Is out of position a good deal and takes himself out of some plays. Average ball skills. Can be caught guessing and fooled in the open field. Does not play up to workout numbers. Average production against marginal competition. Never recognized as even an Honorable Mention All-MAC football player.

Thanks for the scouting report chief, it just further proves my point that DHB is better suited for NFL type of scheme than Crabtree. If you look at the vertical rating on DHB it is exceptional if you look at Crabtree's it is average maybe even weaker. DHB will run by corners forcing the safeties to move back and be on the look out for the deep threat. This will open up the run game for the Raiders and Mcfadden, Bush and Fargas will have big yardage. It also opens up the play action fake that is used a lot more in the NFL than in College.

As of the Mitchell pick this video pretty much explains why the Raiders picked this guy.
Even the so called "scout expert" apologized to the Raiders organization for not doing his research. Here is the link: NFL Videos: Raiders draft surprise

The Charger, why would I want to argue with a Choker fan there is no point, it is useless. I would rather argue with a Donkey or Queefs fan at least they have an argument.

AFC West Superbowl wins:

Raiders 3
Donkeys 2
Queefs 1
Dolts 0

Chargers at the bottom where they belong. Why dont you go argue with Bnegals fan on who will win there first Super Bowl!!!!!

I'd like to see the raiders win anything without Rich Gannon or Howie Long. I like how Raiders fans always gotta brag about super bowl wins and like to forget their recent standings.

The bolts were cheated out of their last few super bowl chances.

08' Refs made shit calls during Steelers playoff game (no LT, injured cromartie)
07' Patriots cheating Spygate AFC championship game (Injured LT, Injured Toe on Antonio Gates.
06' Spygate Patriot cheaters beat young chargers team in WILDCARD playoffs

In 1995 when the chargers faced the 49ers in the superbowl. the Chargers were the Cinderella team in the first place and suprised everyone by making it there. They had an above average Defence and poor offense. They didn't even have Dan Fouts.

They are in the same league. The National Football League. They're not in the same conference. National Football Conference / American Football Conference.

You're welcome. And how do you come to the conclusion that DHB is better suited for the NFL then Crabtree? Crabtree's scouting report is better. Like I said, DHB wins in one category. Speed. And speed doesn't make you a great football player, you have to know how to catch the ball and run the routes. Both things Crabtree are better at. You read the scouting report and you realize that Crabtree is actually has better seperation skills which means he tends to get open more often. The same thing you said about DHB can be said about the Niners. Crabtree will open things up as well once he gets in uniform.

And that video proves nothing. The Chicago Bears said they didn't plan on picking him that high. They said possibly in the 5th round the next day once that news started spreading around. Everyone else had him in the 7th round / UFA. Don't expect too much from the guy. He'll make the big hit here and there but will fuck up in coverage and give away 7.

And about the superbowl argument with that Charger ... you're arguing with some Niner fans too that have how many rings?
