It's not in the governments best interest to find cures for things like cancer or aids. Let's face it, the pharmaceutical industry is a billion dollar industry, and these billion dollar industries are the one's throwing money at politicians campaigns, therefore the politicians are in the pockets of people who's prerogative to keep people sick as fuck, but offer them some pill that will solve symptoms, but these pills never cure shit. people just have to buy these western medicines for a) their whole lives or b) until their vital organs start failing them. If "b)" occurs, well then they have to spend more money in the pharm world for other shit to fix that shit. Don't get me wrong, some medicines are good, and not every thing is all evil like that, but it is a piece of the problem.
